The Eckington
Washington, DC
WMC provided civil engineering, survey and landscape architecture services for the design of the Eckington Hotel located at 201 Florida Avenue, NE in the District of Columbia. The proposed building is a 10-story hotel with two levels of underground parking. The site measuring 23,181 sq. ft. is located within the NoMa Development region and the design adheres to the NoMa Development Concept. The site is bounded by Florida Avenue NE to the north, the Metro Bike Path to the east, the southern edge of the Metro Atrium to the south, and the near face of the proposed 2nd Street, NE to the west.
Hilton Garden Inn - 815 14th Street, NW
Washington, DC
WMC was part of the design team for this 300 room hotel located in an urban atmosphere in the heart of Washington, DC. This 185,000 sq ft, 14 level downtown hotel is on a very tight site set in the one of the busiest areas of Washington, DC. WMC was responsible for full civil engineering services for this project which included site design, grading, utilities, paving, stormwater managemnet, waterline design, streetscape; sanitary, and storm sewer line design.
Courtyard Marriott - 515 20th Street, NW
Washington, DC
WMC is currently working on a new Courtyard Marriott hotel in Washington, DC which will be located on a site that previously housed a parking garage. WMC will be responsible for full civil engineering services. Site improvements include new domestic and fire service, electrical, telephone and gas service, sanitary and storm sewer and new storm filter for stormwater management. Site design will also include new driveway entrance, concrete sidewalk, and granite curb and brick gutter fronting the new development along 20th street Northwest.
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel & Residences - Georgetown
Washington, DC
WMC participated in the construction of the Georgetown Incinerator, a mixed-use facility consisting of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, the Residence Condominiums, and a movie complex. WMC provided civil engineering design which included separate utility services for both the residential and hotel facilities including two stormwater management facilities, sanitary sewer, domestic and fire service connections. Public utilities were relocated to facilitate construction of new electrical vaults.
Marriott Wardman Park
Washington, DC
The Marriott Wardman Park Hotel is the largest convention center hotel in Washington, D.C. with 1,347 room and 1.1 million sq ft of gross floor area. WMC was involved with the renovation of this historic hotel which also included the addition of exhibit hall space, a parking garage and new entrance features, plus renovation to all common interior spaces and hotel rooms. WMC prepared site designs that included layout and design of a new parking garage, new entrance configurations, entire frontage landscaping, stormwater management, and utilities. WMC was responsible for the construction of the new Port Cochere, a new driveway exist for the trucks, and additional taxi queuing area.
